Carrie is a fine art photographer living in rural Minnesota. Her passion lies in photographing horses in beautiful locations, running free, being free. She travels internationally and has spent time in pastures and fields around the world, learning horse behaviors and getting to know their personalities. Whether it’s the majestic nature of a horse or simply capturing the humor of the situation, each image is a story.
From early on, Carrie’s family has included many horses, dogs, cats and a few farm animals. She graduated from Augsburg College with bachelor degrees in art and communication. However, it wasn’t until sometime later while documenting a niece’s horse show that she put it all together--art, photography and horses. While continuing to strengthen her connection between the three, Carrie has found that working with horses in their natural environment has also provided healing. Now her vision is to capture not only the beauty of nature, but the unique relationship of horses.
